Elements of Realism – exhibition

Three works were on display as part of an exhibition titled “Elements of Realism”, with works by J.H. Pierneef, J.E.A. Volschenk, Frans Oerder, Walter Meyer, John Kramer, Willem Pretorius, Nadrie Botha, Rosemary Joynt, Gerbrand van Heerden, Oliver Scarlin, Rob MacIntosh and Andries Bezuidenhout. The exhibition comprises of landscapes, portraits, interiors and still lifes.

The home of Willem and Linda Pretorius, Rosendal in South Africa’s Free State province, near the Lesotho border. Willem is a landscape painter, but has also won a number of awards for portraits.

Cullinan is a diamond mining town near Pretoria. One of the world’s biggest diamonds was discovered here. The title refers to a song by Leonard Cohen.
